We were previously leasing T1 lines and paying tens of thousands of dollars per year to connect our stations with headquarters. Additionally, one of the stations was also the data center and the 1.5 Mbps was simply not adequate for our needs. We had previously looked at a licensed radio network, but found it was too expensive and that it would take years to recoup our investment. We then decided to evaluate license-free wireless broadband systems because they presented a compelling price/performance offering. Today, following the deployment of RADWIN’s radios, we couldn’t be happier with their high capacity and performance.
When I saw this opportunity, I knew that RADWIN 2000 was the perfect fit for this project. We’ve had great success with RADWIN’s solutions in similar projects in the past. RADWIN 2000 is robust and easy to install, plus its price-performance ratio makes it an easy sell.
The MoD had a vital need for an efficient, robust solution with the ability to deliver TDM and Ethernet in challenging topographies and no direct line-of-sight situations, and we knew that RADWIN’s links were ideal for this project. Extremely fast, compact, robust and simple to deploy, the RADWIN 2000 systems are up and running in less than an hour. The entire RADWIN 2000 solution had to be subjected to full ‘Proof of Concept’ testing prior to deployment to ensure it met operational requirements and guaranteed the system availability levels originally stipulated by the MoD.
