Cambium PtP Alternative: RADWIN Alpha PRO and 2000E

October 21, 2026

Looking for a Cambium Point-to-Point Alternative?

Meet RADWIN Alpha PRO and 2000E

Last updated: October 21, 2026

RADWIN has two point-to-point families that cover the links most operators run on Cambium today. Alpha PRO is for flexible, low-power links up to 120 km. RADWIN 2000 E is for high-capacity backhaul, up to 2.5 Gbps. Both include built-in GPS and AES-256 encryption as a standard.

Why operators are looking now

Cambium Networks' main trading company entered administration in September 2026. PTP 550 and PTP 820 were not named in either Airspan's or Univastu's announcement [confirm before publishing]. Backhaul links carry an operator's whole network, so any question about supply or support matters most here. Many operators are planning a second source for new and critical links now. See: Cambium partner FAQ.

Which RADWIN product fits my link?

If you run today

Look at

What you gain

ePMP Force 300 or Force 400 series (access and short links)

Alpha PRO

Up to 120 km reach, about 4× the Force 400, and one radio that works as a link or a subscriber unit

PTP 450i (mid-range backhaul)

Alpha PRO

Built-in GPS and AES-256 are included, with no extra sync hardware or license.

PTP 550 or ePMP Force 425 / 4500C (high-capacity backhaul)

RADWIN 2000 E

Up to 2.5 Gbps, 1.8–2.5× more capacity, from 4.9 to 6.4 GHz

ePMP Force 4625 or 4600C (6 GHz links)

RADWIN 2000 E (5.9–7.1 GHz model)

2.5 Gbps and access to the quieter 7 GHz band

Alpha PRO: one radio, many jobs

Grows with Your Network

The same unit works as a point-to-point link today and as a subscriber unit tomorrow. Change a setting, not the HW.

Goes the Distance

Links up to 120 km with an external antenna, for rural backhaul and hard-to-reach sites.

Runs on Less Power

Under 13 W, so it suits solar and off-grid sites with small batteries.

Secure and Ready on Day One

AES-256 encryption and built-in GPS are standard, with nothing extra to buy.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. A point-to-point link uses a matched pair of radios, so you replace the link as a whole, one link at a time.

Yes. Each link is independent, so both can run side by side while you move.

No. It is standard on RADWIN 2000 E, and on Alpha PRO in point-to-point mode.
